Following the establishment of the CEP and the address to the nation by the President of the Republic on 6 May https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-11091-haiti-politic-message-to-the-nation-of-president-michel-martelly.html , the Core Group notes that the electoral process has been launched. "It is now incumbent upon Haitian political actors, at all levels, to take all the necessary measures in order to advance towards the organization of the partial legislative, municipal and local elections at the latest by 26 October 2014." Underscoring the importance of continuing the dialogue process among all stakeholders "in order to build mutual trust and ensure that transparent and inclusive elections are held in 2014." In this regard, the Core Group, "strongly hopes that the Executive and Legislative branches will reach a consensus. The inability to hold elections this year could lead to the dissolution of Parliament in January 2015, an outcome that Haiti’s partners refuse to contemplate. The members of the Core Group reiterate their support to the electoral process in its financial, technical, logistical and security aspects."
