Haiti - Tourism : Things are moving everywhere ! 14/05/2014 11:49:16
A delegation from the Organization of Caribbean Tourism (CTO) composed of Mr. Hugh Riley, Secretary General and Chief Executive Office and Faye Gill Director of Customer Service of members, visited Haiti from May 8 to 10, 2014. The Directors of the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Industries (MTCI), during a meeting chaired by Ms. Emilie Jessy Menos, Secretary of State for Tourism and Maryse Noël Director of the Ministry presented the potential of Destinations North, South and Southeast. A committee of youth for raising awareness on tourism Friday, Ms. Dieudonne E. Luma, the Regional Director North of the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Industries (MTIC), formed a committee of young graduates students, from different schools of Cap-Haitien to participate in all activities relating to the awareness of the North population on the cause of tourism. Weekly Meeting Monday, Stéphanie Balmir Villedrouin, the Minister of Tourism and Creative Industry, held its weekly meeting with the Directors, Heads of Departments and executives of the Ministry of Tourism, about the various activities and projects of the Ministry. Following this meeting, a follow up meeting of Project Jacmel and Ile-à-Vache was organized with Andy Durosier, Unit Director of Research and Planning (UEP) and the Financial Consultant, Daniel Pierre. Dithny Joan Raton, Director of Tourism South East emphasized on the support of the Ministry of Tourism in the City of Jacmel concerning in particular the sanitation projectsof the city and the valuation of waste. Of relations specialists will ensure the promotion of Haiti Friday, Dieudonne E. Luma, Regional Director North of MTIC received a team of Public Relations companies composed of Steve Bennett, Didier Phelip, Osvaldo Soriano and Jean Marc Flambert. These foreign relations specialists had for mission to discover Haiti (including the Destination North) to share their experience with their respective countries (Dominican Republic, France, England, Spain and Germany). Professionals visited the National Historical Park (Citadelle, Sans Souci, Ramiers), the Downtown Historic of Cap-Haitien, Labadee... "On the international level, rest assured that you have real strengths as Tourist Destination," said one of the PR. Redevelopment of Beach La Tourterelle Tuesday, Maryse Noel the Director General of the Ministry of Tourism, together with the architect engineer Darley Saint Fleur, conducted an assessment visit to the redevelopment of the Beach La Tourterelle in Les Cayes. 3rd edition of the Festival of the Sea The Northern Regional Office of the Ministry of Tourism announced that the 3rd edition of the Festival of the Sea will take place on 1, 2 and 3 August 2014. A moment of great discovery of the North Destination. Two editions have already taken place in the northern Destination. The first took place in the Labadee Village and the Boulevard of Cap-Haitien around the theme "Let's ^put the cap on the sea ! !"
