Haiti - NOTICE : Exhibition at MUPANAH of the Works of Ulrick Jean-Pierre 30/05/2014 11:35:32 As part of this exhibition that commemorates the 220 years of historical and cultural ties between Louisiana and Haiti, Ulrick Jean-Pierre, who currently resides in New Orleans, celebrates the vivid culture of his native country through his detailed paintings. The paintings were offered to the MUPANAH by the U.S. Embassy so they can be displayed around Haiti for years to come. At the opening of the exhibition, Ambassador Pamela White declared "With these beautiful works art, we see a celebration of cultural heritage and resilience of the Haitian people and that of Louisiana. The exhibition reflects not only our relationship, but also the constant dedication of the U.S. government to work with Haiti to preserve, protect and celebrate our common cultural heritage." As part of the exhibit, the U.S. Embassy has brought Dr. Cécile Accilien of Columbus State University for a week to make presentations to MUPANAH visitors on the artist and his work. The Musée du Panthéon National Haïtien (MUPANAH) is located at Rue de la République, Place des Héros de l’Indépendance, Champ-de-Mars (Port-au-Prince). Visiting hours are: 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM weekdays; Saturday from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM and Sunday from noon to 5:00 PM. HL/ HaitiLibre
