![]() Haiti - Justice : Graduation Ceremony of the 5th Promotion of the School of Magistrates 31/05/2014 11:35:14
In the presence inter alias of Me Anel Alexis Joseph, President of the Superior Council of the Judiciary (CSPJ) of Senator Dieuseul Simon Desras, President of the National Assembly of Me Jean Renel Sanon, Minister of Justice and Public Safety, as well as representatives of France and Canada, countries partners in the training of Magistrates, the Head of State in his capacity as First magistrate of the Nation, in his speech for the occasion, congratulated the 39 recipients "I warmly congratulate the very happy student judges for their years of sacrifices and many sleepless nights. The excellence of their records destines them obviously to a promising career. Meritorious recompense will inexorably come with their future allocation to the judiciary. To this end, the Ministry of Justice and Public Security was instructed to facilitate the integration of student judges in the Judiciary. They should be quickly serve the people claiming the daily bread of justice, justice which is the guarantor of social peace," stressing "[...] this ceremony of graduation is certainly a milestone in their career, but it is not an end in itself. The hard part is to do, that is to say, be competent, honest, reliable, impartial and independent magistrates, It's, a serious demands of society [...]" ![]() For their part, Judge Lionel Constant Bourgoin, "Sponsor" of the Promotion Rock Cadet, the Magistrate Michael Kesner Thermesi, Acting Director General of the EMA and the Minister Sanon, asked the new judges to perform their duties in strict compliance with the Act and in accordance with ethical and deontological rules of this noble profession. In order to increase the number of professional magistrates, the recruitment of 60 student judges, 50% of women, is currently underway for the 6th promote "Meanwhile, the number of police, auxiliary of Justice, was significantly increased during the past three years with the objective of reaching 15,000 police officers in 2016 in order to fight crime [...] no effort is too great to strengthen our system of legal security and public safety. We are talking about the future of our beloved Haiti who activates to welcome foreign investors, vectors unavoidable in teh creation of jobs and wealth to fight unemployment among our spirited and dynamic youth," declared President Martelly.
