Haiti - Humanitarian : Simply Help Foundation donated 17,5 tons of rice to Haiti

Friday, Ambassador of the Republic of China (Taiwan) in Haiti, Tsai Chiu Hwang has delivered to the Minister of Social Affairs and Labour, Charles Jean-Jacques, a container carrying 17,3 tonnes of rice, a gift of Simply Help Foundation, an American NGO based in Los Angeles.
The ceremony was held in the premises of the Taiwanese firm that works in Haiti, Overseas Engineering Construction Company Ltda. SA (OECC), in the presence of members of the Cabinet of the Minister and staff of the Embassy of Taiwan in Port-au-Prince.
"The Simply Help Foundation,entrusted the Embassy of the Republic of China (Taiwan) in Haiti, the mission to donate to vulnerable populations in the country through the Ministry of Social Affairs, the cargo of rice," declared Ambassador Hwang. Emphasizing on the support programs for street children and of implantation of Community restaurants across the country, the diplomat reiterated the solidarity that marked the existence of Taiwanese and Haitian people for 58 years and expressed his gratitude to the American NGO for its assistance to the Haitian people.
Minister Jean-Jacques, thanked the Simply Help Foundation for its support to the most disadvantaged Haitians and was very grateful to the Taiwanese diplomat, wchich was good enough to fill this role, in this matter of donation and asked the Ambassador to convey the thanks of his Ministry, to the American NGO, which wants to be in solidarity with the social actions of the Government.
