Haiti - Humanitarian : Brazil reiterates its support in the food security plans 03/06/2014 12:40:25
Following this meeting, the Foreign Ministers made no statement to journalists, but Brazilian sources, usually well informed, tell us that the two men insisted on the social plans with "quick impact" as those to ensure food security in Haiti. The Minister Figueiredo would have also expressed his decision to host Haitian immigrants, and said it had launched a campaign to its Embassy in Port-au-Prince and in other countries for processing visas. Recall that according to the Brazilian official data, between 2012 and March 2014, nearly 8,100 Haitians have obtained visas for permanent residence in Brazil. Both Chancellors have also reviewed the results of the UN Mission for Stabilization in Haiti (Minustah), whose military command was given to Brazil, the latter maintains a staff of 1,433 military and 18 police officers in Haiti.
