Sandra Honoré, the Special Representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations in Haiti and other members of the international community in Haiti represented in the "Core Group" [ambassadors from Brazil, Spain, United States of America, France, and the European Union, the acting Chargé d'Affaires of Canada, and the Special Representative of the Organization of American States (OAS)], take note of the publication of the Presidential Decree of 10 June convening the people in the elections and encourage stakeholders to reach consensus on the composition of the Provisional Electoral Council (CEP).

They recall that the spirit of dialogue and consensus is the basis of democracy and will help to the holding of credible elections, transparent and inclusive in Haiti in a spirit of serenity and peace. In addition, they encourage all stakeholders to continue the dialogue process in order to expand consensus and facilitate greater participation in the 2014 elections.

nt of view, technical, logistical and security for the electoral process in Haiti, in order to consolidate the institutional stability, Sandra Honoré and the "Core Group" renew their desire to see the Senate vote on the amendments to the Electoral law in the shortest possible time, so that the electoral process can start with a good foundation. Find that the electoral calendar is tight they invite all Haitian political actors to quickly finalize discussions and take the necessary decisions for the first round of elections to take place Oct. 26, 2014.
