Face this epidemic, the Ministry of Public Health and Population (MSPP), with various partners, including the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO), the World Health Organization (WHO), UNICEF, the Embassy of Taiwan, the Brazilian Brigade, Zanmi Lasante and GHESKIO Centre, organized a health sectoral table. The aim was to mobilize the necessary funds from partner to make converge the actions to be taken in the context of struggle anti-vector for the benefit of the population.

It was an opportunity for some partners to position itself concretely and for others to reaffirm their commitment vis-à-vis the Ministry. Thus, PAHO / WHO has carried out ​​through his representative, Dr. Jean Luc Poncelet, a donation of 3 million doses of paracetamol for the treatment of patients with Chikungunya. Dr. Florence D. Guillaume, the Minister of Health presented a vial containing 1,000 units of paracetamol to hospital officials of Arcachon 32, Cité Soleil, of health centers of Saint Martin 1 and 2.

Taiwan's Ambassador to Haiti, Tsai Chiu Hwang, who was speaking in the context of this meeting, is committed to provide the MSPP, a donation of 100 thousand U.S. dollars to support the fight against the chikungunya epidemic. Zanmi Lasante has been delegated by the holder of the MSPP in the distribution of drugs in the Central Department, for any confirmed cases of Chikungunya.

As for Mr. Kent Ekstrom, Head of MINUSTAH logistics, he confirmed that he will contribute significantly in the communication campaign through broadcast radio-tv messages and the installation of Billboards and supplying fuel for fumigation operations.

Dr. Jocelyne Pierre-Louis, Director of the Directorate of Health Promotion and Protection of the Environment, said that besides the communication actions already carried out, the fight will intensify by the dissemination of standardized messages for the purposes of behavior change by the organization of a national day of awareness and cleaning and, other actions.
