Haiti - Politic : Tour of Ban Ki-moon in Haiti
Ban Ki-moon, the Secretary General of the UN, will tour in Haiti and in the Dominican Republic from Monday.

This monday in Haiti, will first go to a village in the Department of the Centre, to launch, with the Prime Minister Laurent Lamothe, the country's "Total Sanitation Campaign" https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-11581-haiti-cholera-four-departments-on-red-alert.html which aims to scale up sanitation and hygiene interventions in rural areas. He will also meet with the local community and with families which were affected by cholera.

Back to Port-au-Prince, the Secretary General will meet with President Michel Martelly, as well as parliamentarians. He will have exchanges with the leadership of the UN Mission in Haiti, MINUSTAH, on its activities, and see the Mission’s work in the area of the rule of law.

Also during his visit, the Secretary General will inaugurate the "Sports for Hope" Centre with the President of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), Thomas Bach.

Tuesday, he will travel to Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, where he will meet President Danilo Medina. He will also meet with the Presidents of the Senate and the Chamber of Deputies of the country and will address a joint session of Congress.
