Haiti - Elections : The National office of Identification is overflowed 20/09/2010 09:12:50
Dumesle Richardson, spokesman for the CEP said that in the various communes in the metropolitan area of Port-au-Prince, all COV were currently operating. For his part, Jean Francois Alexis, the head of communications for the National Identification Office (Office Nationale d’Identification ONI), called the applicants of voter cards "to collaborate and to show themselves disciplined to facilitate the work of the operators" to serve the greatest number of citizens who need a national ID card [which also serves as a voter card] in order to vote on November 28. It would launch an appeal for patience, because in recent weeks, the ONI offices are swamped with queues where people waiting for hours and sometimes days without being sure to get and leave with the valuable and indispensable card.
