Wednesday at the National Palace, President Michel Martelly in the presence of Duly Brutus, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, Henry Robert Sterlin, and members of the Argentina diplomatic mission, has decorated with the National Order of the Grand Cross Grade Silver plate, the Argentinean Ambassador accredited to Port-au-Prince, Marcelo Sebaste.

The Head of State praised the work done by Ambassador Sebaste in Haiti, particularly in term of development of the cooperation between the two Republics, noting that "These years have been particularly marked by the strengthening and the tightening of the bonds of friendship and cooperation that unite for very many years our two countries," particularly praising the effectiveness of this cooperation in areas such as health, infrastructure and agriculture.

Ambassador Marcelo Sebaste, did not hide his excitement at receiving this distinction stating "It's the greatest honor I have received in my professional career," while expressing his enthusiasm for the great progress made by the Haitian Government, despite significant the difficulties that confronts the country.

President Martelly took the opportunity to reiterate the friendship of the Haitian people to the President of the Republic of Argentina, Cristina Fernández de Kirchner, to the Government as well as to the Argentinean people.
