Haiti - FLASH : Protesters ransacked the town hall of Petit-Goâve (UPDATE 2:07pm)

This Thursday, members of the opposition took to the streets at around 10:00 am. They are passed in front of the prosecutor of the city and seized the keys of several cars. Then they invaded the Town Hall of Petit Goâve, where they set fire to the generator and ransacked material and desks before continuing on their way...

No police presence was found at the scene when protesters ransacked the town hall. It was only after several minutes, that the security forces, many officers of the Departmental Unit for Maintenance of Order (UDMO) and Body Intervention and Maintenance of Order (CIMO) arrived on the scene and joined the demonstration to prevent further vandalism.

Furthermore this morning, a large group of protesters attacked by surprise with stone throwing, agents of UDMO and CIMO, who had just enough time to fire tear gas before leaving the scene...

The situation in Petit Goâve is explosive, while young very determined and violent clash at the moment the forces...

UPDATE 2:07pm

Because of the tensions in the city, banks do not work ... They have kept their doors closed this Thursday, October 23, 2014... In addition, drinking water began to flow late this morning in the taps following intervention of the persons concerned because yesterday afternoon, intruders had blocked at the tank, pipe that feeds the downtown with water...
