Haiti - Politic : Official visit of Martelly in Ecuador

Sunday, November 9, President Michel Martelly at the head of a Haitian delegation will travel to Quito (Ecuador) as part of an official visit, where he will meet with his Ecuadorian counterpart, Rafael Correa, to evaluate issues of bilateral interests particularly in the fields of migration, aviation and education.

On Monday's agenda, the Haitian President will be received at Carondelet Palace by President Rafael Correa and the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Trade and Integration, Ricardo Armando Patiño Aroca.

Thereafter, the President Martelly with President Correa will lead the Presidential Meeting of Ministers and Haitian-Ecuadorian delegates, which will addressesin cooperation matters the issues of air transport, migration, the bilateral issues and strengthening of the support of Haiti to Ecuador during the next Presidency "pro tempore" of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC), that Ecuador will assume in 2015.

At 11:00 am, the President Martelly will accompany the President Correa to the protocol ceremony of Change of Guard.

In the afternoon the two presidents will attend a meeting with the media.

The visit of President Martelly will help stimulate the presence of Ecuador in the Caribbean region, through the strengthening of political, economic, technical and humanitarian cooperation with Haiti.
