Haiti - Sports : 80 Haitian athletes at the XXII Central American and Caribbean Games

At the XXII Central American and Caribbean Games to be held in Veracruz, Mexico, from November 14 to 30, 2014, 80 Haitian athletes with their technical resources, will participate in these competitions in 6 disciplines: cycling, football, judo, weightlifting and athletics.

Cycling (2) :

Francky Appolon and Jean Willy Joseph, will represent the Haitian cycling on 17 and 18 November. They will not have easy against opponents better prepared.

Football (56) :

56 players (men and women) 27 grenadiers U-20 and 29 grenadières of the senior Haitian women's team. Bright before getting crushed (6-0) by the US in the women's Gold, the Grenadières will begin November 17 for a final scheduled on 27. The Grenadiers U-20 will begin November 18 for a final scheduled for 28.

Judo (3) :

Josué Déprez, Jackly Jean-Baptiste and Linouse Desravines are our three representatives in judo. 7 Haitian boxers qualified, will be on the ring from 21 to 29 November. Pierre Daniel Eddy, President of the National Federation is optimistic.

Athletics : (10)

Eyes will be on Samyr Laine, finalist in August 2012 in London as part of the 30th Olympiad https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-6319-haiti-sports-samyr-laine-qualified-for-the-final-of-triple-jump.html . The Haitian team will have 10 athletes competing from 23 to 27 November, last competition to competing in the games Veracruz 2014. It is allowed to hope for at least one medal.

Moreover, apart from the athletes and the coaching staff, 7 representatives of the Haitian Olympic Committee will join this important delegation. These are Monique André, Chief of Mission, Hans Larsen and Alain Jean-Pierre, President and Secretary General of the Haitian Olympic Committee (COH), Mukkuada Oda, MD, Elsie Joseph and Sealy Rodriguez Metellus.
