Haiti - Sports : Medal in Judo for Linouse Desravine ! 12/09/2013 15:46:34
In triple jump, Samyr Laine remains our hope of a second medal in the 7th edition of the Francophone Games held in Nice (France) from 7 to 15 September 2013 where are present more more than 3,000 young athletes and artists from 55 states, from five continents to participate in these sports and cultural competitions of high level. Football eliminated : In football the Haitian seclection U-20, which had started well by winning his first match 2-0 against Lebanon was defeated in his second match [0-3] by the Panthers of Gabon. In order to stay in competition our young Grenadiers had to absolutely efeat the Senegal, unfortunately the young Lions of Teranga, have struck our Grenadiers [3-0]. It is over for our Grenadiers U-20, which are exit by the back door... Cycling eliminated : Our Haitian athletes were clearly not up to the high level of competition, Junior Faryl Amasan our best Haitian cyclist could not do better than 40th place on 97. His teammates, Jacky Prenellus, Francky Appolon and Jameson Augustin ended respectively in the 50th, 51st and 55th place while Cadet Brenchel and Sterling Saint-Jour, have abandoned the race without crossing the finish line... Table tennis eliminated : Our two Haitian table tennis players were beaten. Muzeau Sébastien beaten (2-3) by the Ivorian Kouakou Coba Yves Kader and in women Duperval Pharlone was beaten (0-3) by the Ivorian Houngue Hote Yedo Lea, in addition to losing the match in mixed [3-0] against Yogarajah Akhilen and Ramasawmy Sanjana Caroline from Mauritius. Athletics, hoping for a medal : 800 m eliminated : Moïse Joseph 800 meters [bib # 281] has been eliminated from the competition, did not presented in the first round of qualifications [?]... Triple jump medal possible : Tomorrow, Friday, at 3:15 pm (France) in the triple jump, our hope for a medal, Samyr Lainé [# 282] participate in the final. The French Yoann Rapinier and Gaetan Saku Bafuanga are to watch out. Among the other jumpers, the best performance against Samyr belongs to the Romanian Adrian Adel Daianu [16m82], a possible but not easy medal. Judo a MEDAL ! After this series of eliminations, Haiti finally found a smile and its pride in Judo, through our Linouse Desravine (52kg), born 10 February 1991 in Cap-Haitien not easily won the first medal [bronze] deserved, of this 7th edition of the Francophone Games 2013. In the quarterfinals, Linouse is imposed against the Moroccan El Kourchi Fatima Zahra. In the semifinals the combat was difficult and Linouse bowed before the Rumanian Matei Cristina. Rescued, Limouse defeated by ippon, the Guinean Camara Mariame reopening the door to the final where she defeated Legentil Christiane (Mauritius) and won the bronze medal and a place on the podium. On Thursday, three other Haitian judoka will compete on the mats: Bettyna Chery (63kg) will face, Billiet Sandrine (Mauritius Islands); Jackly Jean-Baptiste (81kg) will face Wilson Teixeira (Cape Verde) and Robenson Boucicau (73kg) will face Gomes Da Silva Nuno (Cape Verde).
