Haiti - Environment: Caribbean Biological Corridor, signature of a tripartite agreement

At the end of the Fifth Meeting of the Tri-national Ministerial Monitoring Committee of the Caribbean Biological Corridor (CBC), which allowed during three days to review the progress of the project, a tripartite agreement was signed between Haiti, Cuba and the Dominican Republic.

The agreement was signed on Thursday in the Dominican Republic, by Jean-François Thomas, the Minister of the Environment (Haiti), Danilo Alonso Medina, Vice-Minister of Science, Technology and Environment (Cuba) and Bautista Rojas Gómez Minister of Environment and Natural Resources (Dominican Republic).

The agreement consists to the strengthening of cooperation within the CBC, where it was agreed to carry out rehabilitation activities in degraded areas and to undertake work having an impact on the improvement of the quality of life of the people concerned. By this Agreement for a period of 3 years, the three countries are also committed to continuing to promote the sustainable development of the environment in their territories and their respective populations.
