Haiti - Environment : Inauguration of the Centre of Plant Propagation in Dosmond 18/06/2012 14:13:02
"This is the first phase of the Centre of Plant Propagation of plants and of of plants that we just inaugurated as part of a South-South cooperation for Haiti, Cuba and the Dominican Republic funded by the EU. The second phase will involve the training, which will extend to entrepreneurs with professors Haitian and Dominican" declared the Minister of Environment. This Centre, that will produce up to 4.2 million seedlings annually (3 cycles), is funded to the tune of $6 by the European Union (EU), will also be used as a training center for communities of all participating countries in the Caribbean biological Corridor. Through the joint efforts of Cuba, the Dominican Republic and Haiti, the development of this initiative, shows that the environmental rehabilitation and the of alternative livelihoods for sustainable development is possible.
