On 28 September 2010, at the Ecole Normale of Teachers of Les Cayes, Mr. Joel Desrosiers Jean-Pierre, Minister of National Education and Professional Formation, Mrs Chantal Moreno, Head of Antenna of Organisation internationale de la Francophonie in Haiti and Bernard Cerquiglini, Rector of the Agence universitaire de la Francophonie will inaugurate the digital space IFADEM-Haiti.

The future digital space is equipped with twenty computers connected to Internet, audiovisual equipment and a library specializing in science education. Solar panels are also installed. Coupled with batteries allow to compensate the frequent power outages on the island.

It is there where the teachers of the Initiative for the remote Training of the Masters (Initiative pour la Formation à Distance des Maîtres IFADEM) but also their trainers and the pupil-teachers of the Ecole Normale of Teachers will be able to follow the workshops of initiation to computer and Internet.

In Haiti, two departments are involved in a first experimental phase: South and Southeast. They are each equipped with digital spaces, arranged in institutions devoted to training teachers.
