Haiti - Politic : D-6, the Conference of Presidents challenges the tripartite agreement
Tuesday, following the failure Monday of the holding of the National Assembly in extraordinary session https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-12876-haiti-flash-d-7-the-g6-puts-the-national-assembly-in-failure.html , a conference of presidents of Senate Committee, was held at the extraordinary. Most of these Senators challenged the tripartite agreement signed by the three powers of teh State on 29 December 2014 https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-12833-haiti-flash-the-mandates-of-deputies-and-senators-extended-under-conditions.html

The senators unanimously denounced of irregularities in this agreement, beginning with the signature of Me Anel Alexis Joseph President of the Superior Council of the Judiciary (CSPJ), whose the Presidential Consultative Commission had recommended the resignation as a calming measures https://www.haitilibre.com/docs/Rapport-Final-de-La-Commission-Consultative-Presidentielle.pdf . Recalling that the Senate had demanded his departure in a resolution in October 2012 https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-6807-haiti-politic-17-senators-demand-the-departure-of-3-judges-of-the-court-of-cassation.html . But beyond this resignation, senators consider that some clauses are unenforceable and that the time allowed is too short.

Following this conference, the Commission Presidents agreed to establish a Commission of five senators of all trend, with a mandate to discuss with the Head of State before moving to any other steps. A document detailing the claims of the Commission Presidents will be transmitted in the shortest possible time, to the President Martelly.

Also on Tuesday, the 6 opposition senator, members of the G6, met four of the six political parties of the hardliners. Senator Pierre Francky Exius (member of the G6), says that a solution before January 12 is still possible, but before voting the electoral law, the G6 requires the appointment of a consensual Prime Minister, believing that Evans Paul is not able to achieve the necessary consensus; the formation of a Provisional Electoral Council in the spirit of Article 289 of the Constitution and the resignation of Me Anel Alexis Joseph President of the CSPJ, according to the correspondence sent Monday to President of the Senate https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-12833-haiti-flash-the-mandates-of-deputies-and-senators-extended-under-conditions.html

Meanwhile, the Prime Minister appointed Evans Paul continues his meeting on the perspective of forming his government, including meeting the parties of the radical opposition. Serge Jean Louis, of the "Patriotic Movement for Democratic Opposition" (MOPOD) while recognizing that there have been informal meetings with heads of member organizations of MOPOD says that the leaders of MOPOD never met with the Prime Minister and no secret meeting has been held between the leader and the Prime Minister, recalling that MOPOD is a whole and a united block and only the higher authorities take the final decisions.
