If both parties have agreed on the formation of the Provisional Electoral Council, the resignation of Me Anel Alexis Joseph, the President of the Superior Council of the Judiciary, the President Martelly did not given on the change of the Prime Minister appointed, Evans Paul and demanded a guarantee of the vote in the electoral law amended before January 12...

According to Senator Desras, although points of agreement were found, there remains several disagreements that have to be resolved as preconditions to any new convocation of the National Assembly. For Senator Desras January 12 is not a stopper date, while that of a patriotic revival...

After the meeting, it was agreed to declare a state of permanence and the members of the Commission agreed to be entirely at the disposal of the Head of State and to be convened to any time of day or night. However the senators were disappointed that progress has remained verbal and nothing has been formally concluded.

Thereafter, the Head of State met in closed session, representatives of the radical opposition (Ayisyen pou Ayiti, Fusion, INITE, Kontra pèp la). For nearly 10 hours of difficult discussions, the two sides finally agreed on the formation of a consensus government and a CEP which would include no representative of one of the three powers (executive, legislative and judicial). However, the change of the Prime Minister appointed Evans Paul, remains a major sticking point, the President Martely refusing this option that the opposition requires... Despite several points of disagreement, the opposition has agreed to meet again with the Head of State this Thursday to continue negotiations, 4 days before the deadline.
