While students paralyzed for more than 15 days the activities of the Faculty of Agronomy and Veterinary Medicine (FAMV) and the Ministry of Agriculture to Damien to demand the resignation of the new Minister of Agriculture, Jean François Thomas and of Fednel Monchery, Secretary of State for Agrarian Reform and Pierre André Gedon, Secretary of State for Agricultural Recovery, that they consider incompetent https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-13122-haiti-agriculture-the-student-protests-continues-to-damien.html , the agronomist, Dr. Jacques Blaise, Dean of the FAMV, received death threats, accused of having opposed the installation of the new Minister of Agriculture, what the Executive Council of the State University of Haiti, denies in a note signed by the rector Jean Vernet Henry.

"The Executive Council of the State University of Haiti (CE/UEH) has learned with dismay the death threats against the Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine (FAMV), via telephone calls and SMS, accusing him wrongly, of having opposed to the installation of the new Minister of Agriculture, Natural Resources and Rural Development (MARNDR) and the Secretary of State for Agrarian Reform and that of the Agricultural Recovery.

The CE/UEH condemns in the strongest possible this situation, deleterious and invites the judicial authorities to engage in public action against the perpetrators of such acts.

In addition, the CE/UEH request the authorities concerned to ensure the safety of the Dean.
