Haiti - Justice : The authors of the burglary of the Ambassador of Haiti, behind bars
Monday, 11 days after the robbery of two safes at the residence of the Ambassador of Haiti, Fritz Cinéas https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-13118-haiti-security-burglary-to-the-residence-of-the-ambassador-of-haiti-to-the-dominican-republic.html the Head of the Dominican National Police, Manuel Castro Castillo, informed at a ress conference that 7 people involved in the theft of February 5, two Dominican police officers, a soldier and 4 civilians had been arrested and imprisoned.

They are the police corporals Yeferi Jhoel Rosa Gómez and Silfredo Encarnación Rosa Oviendo, who worked in patrol services, in the sector Simón Bolívar, Luis Manuel Polonia a Dominican military and 4 civils : Neuris Ogando Otaño, Ronaldo Leandro Moreno Mejía, Luis Esmeraldo Abreu Santiago (known by police for histories of theft) and Junior CuevasFeliz (aka Junito), the last two, have been recognized as the brains of the burglary.

According to information provided by the Chief of Police, Abreu Santiago had been hired by a fumigation company to intervene twice a month at the residence of the ambassador. He is the one who located the place where was both safe and coordinated burglary with his accomplice "Junito".

The investigation has allowed to determined that after the robbery, the safes were opened at the residence of Otaño Ogando, located in Villa Mella. One of the boxes contained 18,000 US dollars which have not been found, the other contained passports, identity cards, credit cards and other diplomatic documents that have been recovered and returned to the Ambassador Cinéas.

The investigation also confirmed that the domestic employee of Haitian nationality and the security officer of the residence of the Ambassador, had nothing to do with burglary.

Ambassador Fritz Cinéas expressed satisfaction of the investigation and thanked the police for their efforts to find the perpetrators of the burglary.
