Haiti - Boxing : Fighting between Stevenson and Baker in Port-au-Prince
Last Thursday, after a dinner in Quebec, promoters Yvon Michel and Sampson Lewkowicz, have agreed for a fight in Port-au-Prince, probably in June, between the Quebecers of Haitian origin boxer (37 years old, born in Port-au-Prince) Adonis Stevenson (aka Superman) holding the WBC world title (heavyweight) and the American Craig Baker. Yvon Michel should be in Port-au-Prince, on 18 or 19 April to solve with the presidency of Haiti, the details of the preparation and organization of this fight with Adonis, whose Haiti dream for years...

Al Haymon, the PBC representative (First Boxing Champions) who shared the dinner even suggested that the fight would be broadcast on television in the United States and Canada [provided that HBO, Interbox and Main Events, agree with Al Haymon the manager of Stevenson and his promoter Yvon Michel].

As for the exact date, it still remains uncertain, Yvon Michel explained "Everything will depend of Sergey Kovalev. He has an IBF mandatory title defense against Nadjib Mohammedi that he must complete before mid-July. Kovalev can still drop his IBF belt and avoid this fight to face Stevenson in June at the Bell Centre in Montreal."

Last minute Saturday at the Pepsi Coliseum in Quebec City, before a crowd of nearly 5,000 spectators within the framework of the first event of the PBC series presented in Canada, in collaboration with Groupe Yvon Michel, Adonis Stevenson, who defended for the 5th time his title, retained his world crown WBC heavyweight, beating former world champion in super middleweight the Australian from Cameroon Sakio Bika, a win on points after twelve rounds, at the unanimity of judges: 116-110, 115-110 and 115-111 This is the 26th success of "Superman" including 21 before the limit, in 27 fights (one loss).

Congratulations Adonis, Haiti is proud of you and we are waiting your coming to the country impatiently to see you add another victory to your Palmares.
