Haiti - Elections : Sandra Honoré condemns the acts of destruction...

Monday, Sandra Honoré, the Special Representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations in Haiti and Head of the Minustah, condemned the criminal acts of destruction of the Communal Electoral Office (BEC) of Petit-Goâve, Friday, May 15 https://www.icihaiti.com/en/news-13894-icihaiti-social-the-bec-of-petit-goave-torched-by-protesters.html and the attempted destruction on the night of May 15 to 16 of the BEC of Jacmel, calling on all actors to reject violence in all its forms.

"These criminal acts do not advance the electoral process and do not serve the interests of voters. An investigation was opened by the National Police of Haiti (PNH) and it is important that those responsible for such acts be arrested and tried according to the laws of the Republic," indicated Ms. Honore adding "Only a democratic process and credible, transparent and inclusive will enable Haiti to embark on the path of stability and development for all."
