Haiti - Jacmel : The MIJEDD and well being of future generations (exclusive)
On the occasion of the commemoration of the 204th anniversary of the death of our Emperor Jean Jacques Dessalines - October 17, 2010 - a weekend of activities will be organized in the city of Jacmel from October 15 to 17 at the initiative of the Movement Integration of Youth in Development and Democracy (Mouvement d’Intégration de la Jeunesse dans le Développement et la Démocratie MIJEDD).

In an exclusive interview with Haïtilibre, Lerins Nathanaël, executive committee member of the organization announced for Friday, October 15, a peaceful march through the streets of Jacmel with more than 300 pupils and students from different schools. "This march is intended to educate and sensitize young people on the degradation of human and social values in the country. A conference will be organized followed by a cultural evening on 14 and 15 October next", he said.

"Any real democracy requires the participation and representation of all entities of society in decision-making, as we are in a democratic learning process, it is necessary that a good foundation is built to prevent [future] any misconception of democracy. To do this, the community needs an entity capable of facilitating the integration of democratic principles to different segments of the population. In addition, construction of a democratic state can not be done without the construction of a State of Law. Without exaggeration, one can say that it is impossible to devise a rule of law without democracy as a political regime. Thus, it is mandatory that the law reflects the expression of the will of society. That laws are made known to all, while avoiding the legal premise which states that nobody is supposed to ignore the law ".

Lerins Nathaniel explained us to conclude that the MIJEDD conceived the development in terms of progress, socio-economic. "As we all know, the second generation of the human rights regards as basic rights the socio-economic and cultural rights. What implies the imprescriptibility, the insaisissability, the inalienability of these rights. Thus, the satisfaction of these rights is the duty of the State. While a quick glance shows that these rights are flouted and ignored by society"
