Haiti - Health : Graduation of the 4th Promotion in Biology and Applied Medical Science

Friday at the Marriott Hotel, in the presence of representatives of the National Public Health Laboratory (LNSP), of the Ministry of Health, of representatives of the School of Biology-Biochemistry-Biotechnology (ESTBB) of Lyon, of the Catholic University of Lyon and the Fondation Mérieux, took place the graduation ceremony of 18 students of the 4th promoting 2014-2015 BAMS (Bachelor of Science of Biological and Applied Medical Sciences).

After successfully completing 8 months of studies, these students have successfully received the Bachelor in Biology and Applied Medical Science, they are : Altema v. Nathalie, Daniel Roothny, Dorleon Amelise, Fenelon Amione, Fevry Apolos, Girard Nickson, Jacques Ibelson, Joliver Evald, Jonka Frandieu Deriviere, Joseph Florance, Laguerre Fusley, Louis Jeune Natacha, St Victor Youseline, Silva Berthony, St Julien Jn Daniel, St Martin Elzira, Thony Wilmine, Zephirin Jose Peterson.

Dr. Jacques Boncy, Director of LNSP expressed his satisfaction of seeing that this program had already reached this year its 4th promotion. For his part, Dr. Isabelle Hardy, Dean of the Faculty of Sciences of the Catholic University of Lyon declared "What is important now, this is what you will do this training in the near future, by transmitting your knowledge in laboratories."

Recall that the Mérieux Foundation, in collaboration with the ESTBB has implemented, since 2007, this vocational training program (BAMS) for laboratory technicians, to strengthen the clinical biology capacities in sub-Saharan Africa. After the success of this training in Mali, Fondation Mérieux and ESTBB chose to continue this program in Haiti. The launch of the 1st promotion BAMS Haiti, took place September 26, 2011 in Port au Prince to the LNSP. This training is intended for senior technicians of biomedical analysis , level Bac+3 in exercise in Haiti and recognized by the State. Note that 64 lab technicians have already been trained in this program since 2011.
