This new funding will allow ECHO and its partners on the ground to strengthen the response to the cholera epidemic, to continue to accompany Haitians who remain displaced since January 2010; to enhance preparedness of Haitian to recurring natural hazards and improve the food security of the most vulnerable. A new allocation of almost 4 million euros aims, through rent subsidies, to facilitate the moving of people still displaced in new homes and support their access to new professional activities. 3 million Euros to prepare for recurring natural hazards : Strengthening preparedness capacities for natural disasters, such as hurricanes, floods, droughts and landslides, is a major challenge for Haiti. Since 1998, ECHO has allocated over €32 million in the development of national strategies of Risk Management through its DIPECHO program.
