Michel Martelly denies having betrayed Laurent Lamothe
Monday returning on the rejection of candidacies of Laurent Lamothe (Presidency) nd his wife Sophia (Senate) the President Martelly declared "For some time I said to Lamothe he would not be my candidate, because I realized we were going to have elections with political parties very uncomfortable with him and that he appeared to be a candidate President, who could surely win," also the Head of State told his wife Sophia and to Laurent Lamothe" they can not be candidates [... ] because for these elections, it was necessary to create credibility and build trust, that allows everyone to believe he can win...". "I have no problem with Laurent Lamothe. He thinks I betrayed him, not at all, not at all ! I could never think that Lamothe would think that I would betray him. I think the people around him, who want power, can make him think that I betrayed him."

Edwin Zenny (Edo) angry
Monday at a press conference, Senator Edwin Zenny (Edo) put away from the electoral race by the Provisional Electoral Council (CEP) as cried foul, claiming to have been the victim of a political decision. The elected of South East who wanted to take part in the next presidential under the banner of the platform "Konbit Nasynoal" said he sent a letter to CEP in protest against what he called an administrative error "Swa yo retire tout lòt moun ki pa gen dechay yo oubyen yo mete tout moun."

The Party Peyizan raises its voice
Marie-Evelyne César, Coordinator of Party Peyizan, denounces the sidelining of its presidential candidate, former Prime Minister Laurent Lamothe. She talks about political decision and conspiracy orchestrated by a small group of "mafia" within the CEP. Besides that, she considers that two members of the CEP, President Pierre-Louis Opont and teh Advider Paul-Marie Carmelle Austin, have no place to the council, for having been respectively Director General of the electoral council in 2010 and Minister of Communication, she affirms that for that, they should have had discharge of their management of public funds what is not the case. She appeals to the population to be vigilant and ask all candidates excluded to join their voices to defend their interests.
