The DGM explains that out of this figure, 1,100 people have returned to their country of origin by taking advantage of the facilities offered by the Dominican government since June 22, 2015. In addition, facilities re made available to undocumented foreigners, who wish to return voluntarily to their home country so they can make the necessary contacts with the consular and diplomatic authorities of their nations. The DGM recall that as part of a voluntary return, foreigners are exempt from sanctions in accordance with Regulation 285-04 of the law governing the institution. This means that eventually, they can return to the Dominican Republic without hindrance, provided they meet the documentation requirements, visa, etc... In addition, it is reminded to all illegal aliens, who have not applied to PNRE they can regularize their status using the normal procedure established in the Law 285-04 of migration and its regulations .
