Haiti - France : 5,3 million euros for professional training in the field of water

Following the visit of French President François Hollande on May 12 and the signing of an agreement by France including in vocational training https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-13858-haiti-politic-series-of-agreements-signed-with-france.html , one of the commitments, concerning the creation of a sector around the water trade at the National Vocational Training Institute (INFP) was launched.

The launch took place in the presence, among others of : Marina Gourgue, Secretary of State for Vocational Training, Mervil Guillaumette, Director General of the INFP, Benito Dumay, Director General of the National Directorate of Water Supply and Sanitation (DINEPA), Ms Sassine, Executive Director of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Haiti (CCIH) and Ms Bé

The objective of this project is to set up vocational courses in the water sector and sanitation. It also aims to rehabilitate and strengthen the INFP Pilot Centre, located near Cité Soleil, including the links between training offer and economic backgrounds.

The project financed by AFD, amounting to 5.3 million euros was won by a French-Haitian group, led by the Institute Forhom of the Group Egis International in partnership with Institutions and Development and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Haiti. It will run over 4 years, whose 6 months to start up. It will be accompanied by a team of experts from different fields (management, accounting, procurement, coordination with the private sector, education, water and sanitation, gender equality).
