Haiti - FLASH : Total paralysis of freight at the border

Following the aggression of about twenty Dominicans drivers and damage to 60 trucks between 24 and 26 July https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-14686-haiti-flash-dr-will-stop-supplying-haiti-in-3-days.html , the Dominican National Federation of Transports (Fenatrado), totally paralyzing freight service to Haiti from today, due to the lack of protection by the Haitian government. A paralysis that according to Fenetrado will cause huge economic losses to over 50 companies involved on both sides the border in trade between the two countries.

Blas Peralta, the President of the Fenatrado, said that the stopping of the freight began on Monday at 6:00 am at main border crossing points providing access to Haiti, and will be lifted only when the Haitian authorities will comply with the agreements signed with the Dominican government to give protection to their carriers.

He said that the border is not closed, but this paralysis concerns the 6,500 carriers members of the powerful Fenetrado.
