In a circular signed by Rénold Telfort, Director General and approved by the Minister Nesmy Manigat, the General Directorate of the Ministry of Education reminded the department directors of education and principals of public schools that the School Contribution Charges for the 3rd cycle of basic education and secondary education, are set at 250 gourdes.

Additional charges of 150 gourdes may be claimed to cover the expenses incurred for :

• Examination fees, brochure and badge ;

• A school trip per year (eg. Visit of a scientific laboratory) or civic action (eg. Planting trees) ;

• The purchase of computers and teaching materials ;

• The staffroom management ;

• The water point construction.

Regarding the 1st and 2nd cycles of fundamental, costs are fully covered by the State.

Furthermore, in a second circular, the General Directorate of the Ministry states that :

• From the back to school 2015 the number of students per classroom in in high schools, for the academic year 2015-2016, shall not exceed 60 ;

• Registration for classes is authorized, subject to availability. In this case, recruitment for the available places will be done on the basis of a competition ;

• The cost of participation of all applicants for the entrance examination, should not exceed 100 gourdes ;

• The formation lists for school year (2015-2016), from the seventh year to the terminal, must be displayed, at the latest, 27 August 2015 in high schools and sent to the departmental before August 30, 2015.
