This Saturday morning near Cap-Haitien, a truck carrying cargo and thirty people overturned while trying to avoid a motorcycle taxi carrying three people in total, according to initial findings. 

According to Jean-Henri Petit, Coordinator of Civil Protection (DPC) North, 16 people including one passenger of the motorcycle died on the spot. A woman died of her injuries a few hours later. 18 injured including 13 very seriously, were rushed in hospitals in Cap Haitien.
