Haiti - Politic : Maryse Narcisse in Florida

Friday evening, Dr. Maryse Narcisse the presidential candidate for "Fanmi Lavalas", arrived in Miami as part of a 48-hour visit to meet with several components of the Haitian community in South Florida.

She was welcomed by a delegation at the Fort Lauderdale Airport and then went to the premises of "Veye Yo" on 54th Street, also called Boulevard Jean Bertrand Aristide, where hundreds of supporters and sympathizers came listen her.

Accompanied among others by the Senator of Northeast, Jean-Baptiste Bien-Aimé and Lesly Voltaire, former Minister under the governments of Aristide, Mrs. Narcisse warmly welcomed the assistance, saying the organization "Veye Yo" was to the vanguard of the struggle of the Haitian people in their quest for change and social justice.

Tony Jean Thénor, one of the leading members of "Veye Yo", called for a broad mobilization to defeat the "macabre plan of anti-change forces." He also denounced the results of legislative elections of August 9, which according to him, are only intended to form a 50th Legislature with elements of power in place.

Senator Bien-Aimé, a former member of the G6, opponents of the Martelly regime, welcomed thelongstanding commitment of Maryse Narcisse alongside the Haitian people, and stressed that the Candidate of Fanmi Lavalas had an active militancy within the National Alliance of Popular Organizations (ANOP) and other feminist organizations, including "Kay Fanm" (House of the woman).

Saturday, Maryse Narcisse spoke with the Community of Miami and its surroundings, at a rally at the Auditorium of the "Senior High School" of North Miami, area with a high concentration of Haitian. She also held talks with several delegations from Protestant pastors in South Florida.
