Haiti - Technology : The X-ROAD project making great strides
Tuesday, as part of the implementation of a large e-platform called X-Road, a component of the project IFMS (Integrated Financial Management System), a working meeting was held around the interoperability of this system within the Government.

Recall that X-Road is a rapid information exchange software and in real-time that which will facilitate, on the one hand, access to government data for making informed decisions and will promote, secondly, the data security that institutions will be asked to exchange between them. It is envisaged in the starting phase of the IFMS project to implement an electronic data exchange platform regrouping 12 public institutions : the Office of Management and Human Resources (OMRH), Ministry of Public Health and Population (MSPP), the Office of Vehicle Insurance Against Third (OAVCT), the Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF), the Directorate General of Taxes (DGI), the General Administration of Customs (AGD), the National Police of Haiti (PNH), the Superior Court of Auditors and Administrative Disputes (CSC/CA), the Unit for Combating Corruption (ULCC), the Ministry of Public Works, Transport and Communications (MTPTC) and the Ministry of Planning and external Cooperation (MPCE).

In his speech, Uder Antoine, General Coordinator for the OMRH, stressed the importance of such a project that will allow data exchange between the different institutions of the Haitian government.

Subsequently, Alphonse Nkuzimana, representative of the US Agency for International Development (USAID) conducted a contextualization of the project before handing over to Olivier Vaartnôu and Tarmo Oja respectively CEO of the firm Cybernetica and Project Manager.

Also known under the name of "Unified Exchange Platform" (UXP), the X-Road project has many advantages such as: secure access to data, support for heterogeneous systems, a flexible and scalable system.

Note that the X-Road, which will be replicated in Haiti has already been adopted by several developing countries and is widely regarded as the international standard for electronic data exchange between various institutions of government. Note that a working visit will take place from 3 to 9 October of this year in Estonia where the X-Road is being tested.
