Haiti - Tourism : Towards the return of the Pearl of the Antilles
As part of World Tourism Day, celebrated this Sunday, September 27, on the theme "One billion tourists, a billion opportunities", the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Industry recalled that last year, tourism contributed to the tune of $ 29.5 billion to the Caribbean economy and this figure crescendo this year according to the Caribbean Tourism Organization. The theme this year is a reminder of the importance of tourism and its multi-sectoral impact. Moreover, it highlights the many opportunities to develop our tourism. "The more than 1 billion tourists expected to travel during this exercise challenge us to create experiences and memories that appeal to each individual, in order that not only they come to us, but also encourage their friends and families to visit the destination.

[...] The Haitian tourism is the reception given to foreigners, the hospitality of the people, the cleanliness of our streets, the proper care of our beautiful sites, the valuation of our tangible and intangible heritage, structures for the entertainment of visitors, the creation of distracting areas for children, management of natural parks, respect for the environment, good conditions of hygiene, security throughout the holiday, memories of Haiti carried to the world...

[...] Every Haitian, now has an important duty for the promotion of tourism in his country, his home. He must also know that this promotion begins with his own participation by the 'touris lakay', his personal visit of the whole territory, so it be able to peak of the beauty and valuers of Haiti to the foreign, interest them to discover the Pearl of the Antilles.

[...] In essence, it is ggiven us a billion opportunities to promote Haiti and contribute significantly to the economic development of the country, because 'zafè touris, se zafè tout moun !'"


Recall that the first half of 2015 [excluding cruise passengers] Haiti has registered a total of 255.388 visitors, 234.882 visitors in the Toussaint Louverture International Airport and 20.566 visitors Hugo Chavez International Airport in the north.
