With force, he said that Haiti needs its people and its international friends to get up, but as an independent country, without being supported by many NGOs that operate without control, more money than the Haitian government. He told his audience that he does not build schools if we can not ensure to feed the students "You can not study with an empty stomach, without knowing if you will eat in the day" He asked the Dominicans to invest in Haiti to rebuild the country, noting that Haiti and the Dominican Republic share the island and that "if Haiti is ill, the Dominican Republic is affected [...] We need the support of the Dominicans in many areas as environment, technology, construction for the economic stability."
