The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has learned with great dismay, the tragic deaths of 3 of our nationals, occurred in the Dominican Republic Thursday, October 8 during the accident of a bus of the Dominican General Directorate of Migration, coming from the city of Constanza, carrying 47 people in instance of repatriation to Haiti https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-15412-haiti-flash-serious-bus-crash-carrying-46-haitian-migrants-in-dr.html

The information provided to the Chancellery, by the Embassy of Haiti in the Dominican Republic also reported 27 wounded, including two in critical condition.

As soon informed of the accident, the Consulate of Haiti in Santiago has taken all necessary steps to assist all victims. Furthermore, the Ministry informs that the necessary instructions were passed to the Embassy of Haiti in the Dominican Republic in order to frame the families of all the victims to protect their rights.

The Chancellery, sympathizes with the pain of the families of the victims and presents its deepest condolences and heartfelt sympathy to all the relatives and friends affected by the loss of life.
