Haiti - Diaspora : Big «Rara» Parade in New York

The Haitian community in general and that of New York in particular is invited Sunday 1 November 2015, to "Bann Konte" a big "rara" parade of tales, games and traditional music, organized by the non-profit organization profit Haiti Cultural Exchange.

With the historic Haitian conch the "Kone" traditional (long metal horn), bamboo trumpets and Haitian drums, "Bann konte" invites the audience to travel through "Crown Heights". This rhythmic paradeinterrupted by songs and instruments, will allowing the public to appreciate the stories told in a friendly atmosphere.

Artists present : Allenby Augustin, Goussy Célestin, Schneider Laurent, Michèle Voltaire Marcelin et Djarara.

The parade "Bann Konte" is part of "Krik Krak", the annual Festival of storytelling, traditional games and music created in 2011 by Akoustik Prod in the city of Les Cayes. It closed the three days of diverse activities: storytelling, concerts, workshops, lectures, puppet show and games competition that are free to the public. This year, as part of a collaboration between Akoustik Prod, and HCX the parade will try in the streets of "Crown Heights".
