Minister Dupuy recalled that the measures adopted by the Government are not random, and that despite these tax adjustments, the state still absorbe the bulk of the costs. Regarding the increases in driver's license (type A from 1,000 to 3,000 Gdes, type B from 1,000 to 4,500 Gdes, license for motorcycles from 500 to 1,000 Gdes) he stressed that these upward adjustments did not relate to essential commodities [!]... Mario Dupuy wanted to add that he "has always advocated a responsible democracy. It is necessary to appreciate or judge these measures at their fair value. The new Government measures are necessary and mandatory," indicating that the application of these increases was deferred after December. About the increase in passport fees, which rose from 1,600 to 3,000 gourdes (nearly 200% increase) he he places responsibility on the necessity of meet the new demands of the international system of aviation safety, which involves the production of secure passports who are calling for more expensive technologies.
