Yesterday Wednesday during a demonstration that brought together several thousand people for the respect of the popular vote, rubber bullets were fired by the police forces, Steven Benoît, presidential candidate (Konviksyon) who participated to this demonstration was injured at the temple and also behind the head by one of the ball. While Moïse Jean-Charles (Pitit Dessalines) was forced to dismount while rubber bullets and tear gas was fired close to him, indicating about his horse "Yo tire sou nou, Cheval nou tonbe. Batay la fenk koumanse, Boulet se pousye."

A real demonstration of force

According to Me Michel André (JISTIS), the demonstration of 18 November was a "real demonstration of force. There was no violence. The police fired bullets and use tear gas [...] It is the first time the police have been so blind in the repression."

This is not disturbing the public peace that the results of the vote will change

The PHTK platform in a press release "condemns all acts of violence that are committed during the demonstration days and above all the acts that were committed today [November 18] [...]," recalling that the Electoral Decree provides how attack results and that "it is not by demonstrations and acts of violence, by disturbing the public peace that the results of the vote will change or that democracy will continue to shine into the country."

Steven Benoit denounces

"When we arrived before the gates of the CEP, the police shot at us [...] It was a peaceful demonstration, we did not try to cross the barriers. The officer who gave the order to fire must be punished for this illegal act," denounced Steven Benoit who was himself wounded.

The PHTK request to dismiss the accusations of Fanmi Lavalas

Me Patrick Laurent, lawyer of Jovenel Moïse (PHTK) asked the electoral court (BCEN) to reject the accusations of Mrs. Narcisse (Fanmi Lavalas) evoking the thesis that the plaintiff did not submit to the Court any evidence to support its allegations, according to him the candidate Maryse Narcisse is not entitled to file a protest with the BCEN and asked the electoral court to declare inadmissible the challenge of the latter for lack of interest.
