Haiti - Elections : 2 days of demonstrations and a general strike announced 03/12/2015 10:42:45
Serge Jean-Louis of MOPOD believes that the future of democracy go through the cancellation of elections on 25 October and the departure of the Government. Evel Fanfan, a lawyer of "Pitit Dessalin" calls for the expulsion of the race of the candidate of PHTK Jovenel Moïse. 2 new days of demonstrations were launched, the first this Thursday, December 3 and the other Saturday to challenge those in power, demanding the cancellation of elections and to protest against the arrival in Haiti of former US Ambassador Kenneth Merten. In addition to these two event days, a word of general strike was launched to Monday, December 7 said the "Pitit Dessalin" party. Fanmi Lavalas, which also contested the results of these elections, says it is ready to participate with all the political parties or groups, who shares its vision and opposes to "any project of return to dictatorship in the country." The demonstrations planned 3 and December 5 will be held in conjunction with the G8 through its new mobilization entity.
