Haiti - Elections : Electoral Observation Mission of the ParlAmericas
In the framework of the observation of presidential elections in Haiti, ParlAmericas, independent network of national legislatures of the Americas and the Caribbean, deploys an electoral observation mission in Haiti (MiOÉH). This mission will undertake a long-term observation of the elections of 27 December. Note that this mission is a continuation of electoral observation activities that started since the beginning of September 2015.

Following the observation of the second round of elections, analysts continued their observation of the important activities of the electoral process, including the activities of Votes Tabulation Center (CTV), political parties and the deliberations of challenges. They also met with representatives of political parties, civil society stakeholders, women's groups representatives, international NGO representatives and journalists to obtain their perspectives of the electoral process to date, and collect their views on the upcoming vote day.

Besides the Framework Team based in Port-au-Prince and composed of 8 experts in electoral matters, 14 long-term observers are deployed in the various departments of the country for the elections of 27 December.

The observers of the mission will remain in Haiti until 31 December 2015. However, some of them will stay to watch CTV and challenges activities. During the post-election period, the Mission plans to consult, more generally, the parties engaged in the electoral process to take stock and determine how to strengthen the democratic framework in Haiti.
