Haiti - Elections : ONI begins distribution of CIN
The National Identification Office (ONI) in partnership with the Organization of American States (OAS) begins this Monday, November 8, 2010, the campaign to distribute National Identification Card (CIN) in the west department for the towns of Port-au-Prince, Delmas, Petion-ville and Tabarre.

Accordingly, the ONI encourages all voters to collect their card at the ONI office in the communes above, in normal times is to say from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm Monday to Friday and from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm Saturdays and Sundays.

In addition, the National Identification Office informs that the distribution of CIN will begin this Thursday, November 11 in all other departments of the national territory. [ONI bureaucrats and OAS undoubtedly follow the election schedule but clearly, comfortably installed in their offices, they do not take into account the dire situation of our countrymen on the field]

ONI also informed that more than 140 offices across the country, 63 mobile units will be deployed on the whole country in order to facilitate to the citizens to have their cards.

Lastly, the ONI reminds the population that only the people having made their requests before September 28th, 2010, will be able to vote, but also will be able to withdraw their CIN in the offices of the ONI. People who have made their demand after September 28, 2010 will receive their CIN at a later date which will be announced in due course.
