Haiti - Politic : Evans Paul calls on parliamentarians to patriotic mobilization 14/01/2016 08:32:00 Indeed, elected officials at both the House of Representatives that the Senate of the Republic have gone back to the hemicycle of the Legislative Palace. The Deputies and Senators of the 50th Legislature were sworn respectively, Sunday and Monday and "will have to face the new commitments and new challenges, necessary to the democratic and efficient functioning of the country." The Primature stressed that "this opening of Parliament marks a significant step in the completion of the electoral process, intended to provide the country, with legitimate authorities responsible for meeting the main demands of the Haitian people to better live together." The Head of Government, while presenting its warmest congratulations to the new Deputies and elected and re-elected Senators, invites them "to the intense patriotic mobilization in order to provide the country with legal framework and modernization for better governance of our beloved Haiti." Reiterating that the elections scheduled for next January 24, will help ensure the inauguration of a legitimate President, elected in democracy, February 7.
