Haiti - Politic : EU notes the determination of the Haitian authorities

This Monday 15 February, in a statement on the election of transitional President in Haiti, Jocelerme Privert, the EU spokesman declared "The election by the two chambers in National Assembly, of Mr. Jocelerme Privert https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-16595-haiti-flash-jocelerme-privert-provisional-president-of-haiti.html as provisional President of the Republic of Haiti within the prescribed period by the political agreement https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-16533-haiti-politic-the-details-of-the-agreement-from-a-to-z.html shows the determination of the Haitian authorities to provide the country with stable and legitimate institutions through dialogue, in the calm and serenity.

The European Union reiterates its support for the efforts of the transitional authorities whose main task will be the culmination of the electoral process with the installation of a new President elected by the citizens of Haiti no later than 14 May and thus ensure political stability .

This political stability is essential to ensure the safety of citizens and to commit the country in the urgent reforms. They help put Haiti on the road for a better governance and of an economic, social and environmental development for the benefit of its entire population."
