Friday a senior US health official, Anne Schuchat, principal deputy director of the US Centers for Disease Control (CDC) expressed her "extreme concern" about the potential of Zika virus to spread throughout Haiti and stated that the United States is helping Haiti to prepare.

Let us recall that most people who are affected by the fever of Zika do not suffer severe symptoms, but pregnant women are considered at risk and have been informed by many governments not to travel to countries where the virus Zika is present.
