Mirlande Manigat is no longer interested in the Government
Tuesday, the Head of State was informed that Mirlande Manigat, the General Secretary of the "Rally of Progressive National Democrats" (RNDP), had been contacted to participate in the transitional government, but she declined the invitation [ without doubt disappointed not to have been chosen as Prime Minister of transition].

Lavalas militants threaten parliamentarians

This is a very difficult situation to manage for which I appreciate the willingness shown by the Provisional President to find a just and effective solution in accordance with agreements made and the very short deadlines for completing the political transition."
