Following the torrential rains that have battered last week in Haiti https://www.icihaiti.com/en/news-16749-icihaiti-flash-provisional-assessment-of-floods.html particularly in the northern region, the General Secretariat of the Presidency in a letter, asked the Minister of Economy and Finance, Wilson Laleau, to unblock 150 million gourdes in favor of the flood victims.

"[...] The Secretariat General of the Presidency presents its compliments and ask you to pass the instructions to the services concerned of your Ministry to transfer an amount of one hundred fifty 0/100 gourdes (Gdes 150,000,000.00) to the Departmental Directorate North of Finance.

This amount will be used in emergency operations funding for the victims of the recent floods in the North Department [...]"
