After violent clashes Monday and Tuesday in Cap Haitien and Hinche, several scenes of violence were reported today in Port-au-Prince. Burning tires blocked traffic at intersections, in an atmosphere of tear gas. Gunshots, of origin unknown, were heard.

Protesters attacked a patrol of Minustah at the Champ de Mars by throwing stones. They accuse the peacekeepers of being responsible for cholera in Haiti. A persistent rumor, cleverly orchestrated by individuals who seek to destabilize the social climate to 10 days before the election. A rumor relayed by the Haitian media, which merely blowing in an irresponsible manner, on the flames of revolt.

The police, quickly regained control of the situation, but several hundred protesters through the capital, began looking for other peacekeepers seeking confrontation. "We are demonstrating against the government and Minustah, which do nothing. Minustah should pacify the country and wherever it is, it's worse. Minustah killing Haitians" ensured a demonstrator who lamented that the government had abandoned them.

Oxfam, a humanitarian organization, fears that the clashes contribute to the spread of cholera.
